Sapia Creative Named a National Nominee in the 2026 Australian Event Awards
Sapia Creative has been named a National Nominee for Theming, Branding or Styling Company of the Year at the 2026 Australian Event Awards. National Nominees are the entries receiving the top five moderated judging scores in each category, provided they meet the Nominee Threshold Score.
Sapia Creative is listed as a National Nominee on the Australian Event Awards website, with National Winners announced at the Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 21 October 2026 in Coffs Harbour.
It is the second consecutive year Sapia has been recognised nationally in this category. In 2025 the studio was a national finalist for Theming, Branding or Styling Company of the Year, and the Raine & Horne NSW & ACT State Awards, a 600 guest awards night Sapia designed and delivered, was named Australia’s Best Corporate Event.
“Every event behind this entry belongs to a client who trusted us with something that mattered deeply to them, and to their own clients and guests. To have that work judged among the best in the country, two years running, is something I am very proud of,” said Samantha Hobbelen, Founder and Creative Director.
How the Australian Event Awards are judged
Every entry is assessed by at least two judges, working blind, who do not discuss entries with each other. Each category has its own judging team and its own criteria. Scores are moderated, and the top five in each category that clear the threshold become National Nominees.
The work behind the nomination
Sapia Creative is a Queensland luxury event styling and production studio delivering corporate galas, awards nights, product launches and conferences for rooms of ten to seven hundred guests, across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast, nationally into Sydney and Melbourne, and across New Zealand. Recent work includes the Kismet Healthcare gala at BCEC, a LabWare conference gala in Melbourne for 400 guests, and the QAGOMA Business Leaders’ Network dinner in Brisbane. Clients include Anglo American, BOQ, Flight Centre, Raine & Horne, LinkedIn, Toyota and Komatsu.
